GRACE  SUDARGO

Born in a classical music loving family, Grace Sudargo, who is married to Eduard Schreiber and has a daughter named Clara, began her violin lessons at an early age, but it was not until after she graduated from high school in 1984 that she went to Austria where she pursued further violin studies under Mag. H. Jillich in Leoben. From 1985 to 1991 she studied music pedagogy and violin at the Hochschule für Musik in Graz under Prof. W. Klasinc and Prof. Jannis Chronopoulos. At the same time she took piano as a second instrument under the guidance of Maria Chronopoulos. Due to her outstanding performance she was bestowed scholarships from the government of Austria in 1991, and graduated cum laude while earning a certificate as a violin instructor.

While in Austria, Ms. Sudargo was active as a member of Capella Academica Graz which was under the supervision of Professor Klasinc. She has performed in about 130 concerts in and out of Austria as concert master, assistant concert master and as soloist. She was also a member of the Joseph Haydn Orchester and the Stadtorchester Leoben besides doing recordings for Radio Austria. Ms. Sudargo is a permanent member of the European String Teachers Association (ESTA) which was established under the auspices of Lord Jehudi Menuhin. In 1993, she took part in a masterclass under Prof. B. Gorzynska in Austria.

At this moment, Ms. Sudargo focuses her attention in teaching violin and piano to talented students as well as the Capella Amadeus String Chamber Orchestra of which she is the leader.
